DJ Nyke
My name is Shawn Udell Jackson, affectionately known by most as DJ Nyke (pronounced 'Nike', like the shoe). I was born in Casper, but moved a lot in my younger years. After 4 years active duty and 4 reserve in the U.S. Marine Corps, I decided to move back to my birthplace after being gone almost 20 years. I picked up DJ-ing during my tour of duty in Okinawa, Japan. It was there I got stuck with the moniker of DJ Nyke, mainly because of my affinity for the shoe brand and the fact that a lot of the locals had a difficult time accenting my first name correctly. As well as the fact my brothers-in-arms had been calling me Nyke since my first day of service time. When I did my first DJ gig, the promoter only knew me as Nyke and took it upon himself to put DJ Nyke on all the flyers. And after of years of trying to lose the name, I finally embraced it. I've lived all over the world and most major cities stateside, from San Diego, Kansas City, Denver, Detroit, Washington DC and New York City. But in the end, you always come home. My last home was in Michigan, where the economy had been declining. Thus the move back to Casper where the majority of my fraternal family is anyway. I have 2 little boys, Jalano Udell Jackson & Terrian Sovann Jackson. I'm the newest addition of the KISS family and happy to be on the team.
