Chipotle announced yesterday that it will no longer include genetically-modified foods in any of its menu items. Making many healthy Americans a bit happier with the chain.

The announcement makes it the first major restaurant chain to ditch GMOs. Chipotle’s founder Steve Ells announced, “Just because food is served fast doesn’t mean it has to be made with cheap raw ingredients, highly processed with preservatives and fillers and stabilizers and artificial colors and flavors.”

Although genetically engineered foods have not been proven to be harmful for human consumption,  NY Times reports the environmental activists are worried they could have a negative impact on the food chain.

We may get a Chipotle here someday but for now the closest one to us is in Cheyenne.
