Whereas Black Friday has been around since the 1930s, Cyber Monday is a fairly new addition to Christmas shopping.

Cyber Monday was officially created in 2005 by marketing companies to persuade people to shop online. Usually the deals available on Cyber Monday are online-only and generally offered by smaller retailers that cannot compete with the deals offered on Black Friday by big retailers.

Of course, major companies like Amazon, Wal-Mart and Best Buy do offer a large variety of sales and incentives (like free shipping on all orders) on Cyber Monday, you are more likely to find better prices Black Friday. However, more and more Americans are willing to pay the differences than fight with the hustle and bustle of the crowds the day after Thanksgiving.
