If you're going to eliminate a weekday from your work week schedule, science says it should be this one.

Work weeks are long. I think we can all agree on that. They are also horribly unbalanced. Who thought it would be a good idea to work five days straight and then take just two measly days off?

We need another day to ourselves, don't you think?

Recently, we asked you which work day you would like to eliminate from your schedule. With this poll we found that the number one day Wyoming would like to take off, in addition to the weekend, was Friday. We are lovers of the three-day weekend, for obvious reasons.

Science disagrees.

According to researchers at the University of Texas at Austin, we should be looking at crossing off Wednesday. A midweek break interrupts the long, hard work week that tends to control your life. According to the report, it "gives you a chance to rediscover your internal rhythms for a day."

This breather in the middle of the week, gives your body a chance to balance the internal and external "pacers" that we deal with. Those pacers can be anything from being a morning person or being a night person to your work schedule or your deadlines. Essentially these pacers dictate your life. When you can better balance them, you feel a greater sense of calm and control.
