Just stumbled across a news story regarding Albertson's - who operates two locations here in Casper, in addition to around 200 others.  They're slowly phasing out their self-checkout lanes in the 100 or so stores that have them, and will revert to traditional, cashier-run lanes by August - saying that their customers miss the personal interaction with cashiers.  Personally, I'm kind of on the fence with this one - I like having someone help get things checked out, but if I'm just getting a couple of things and there's a line elsewhere, it's nice to be able to handle it myself and get out quicker.   What do you think?
