Maroon 5‘s debut album ‘Songs About Jane’ turns 10 years old this year, and a re-released edition in stores now contains a bonus disc featuring demo versions of some of the record’s biggest hits.

Top 10 hits ‘This Love’ and ‘She Will Be Loved’ are among the tracks fans can hear in their original forms on ‘Songs About Jane: Tenth Anniversary Edition.’ Entertainment Weekly posted clips of the demos, which sound much less polished than the final recordings but provide insight into how the songs began to take shape. ‘This Love’ had a cheesy bounce in its chorus as a youthful Adam Levine sang about the girl who gave him the heave-ho.

Similarly, ‘She Will Be Loved’ was clearly not ready for radio, though the song’s simple beauty still came through in the demo. Though it took nearly two years after its release to catch on, ‘Songs About Jane’ ultimately went double-platinum and made Levine and his bandmates stars.

The 10th Anniversary Edition includes demos of every song on ‘Songs About Jane,’ plus additional unreleased tracks. While the world awaits Maroon 5′s upcoming album ‘Overexposed,’ which arrives on June 26, check out the early recordings of ‘This Love’ and ‘She Will Be Loved.’
