October is possibly my favorite month. Weather starts really cooling down, football is in full swing and chili is on the menu. Can this month get any better?

It sure can!

October is National Roller Skating month, and it's backed by the Roller Skating Association. The RSA, is a huge advocate for anti-bullying, mental health awareness and the many health benefits from being on roller skates.

Luckily for us, Casper's very own Wagon Wheel Roller Skating rink is a member of the RSA and is participating and giving you an opportunity to be a roll model.

October is national roller skating month. We will have loyalty cards available if you pledge to be a roll model. The loyalty cards give you a free skate night after you pay to skate 6 times. I hope everyone takes advantage of this. And no, the cards are not just for kids. Adults can also join in. If you would like a loyalty card, just ask an employee while you are there. The cards will good beyond the month of October.

The thought process behind the 'Be A Roll Model' slogan, is to encourage more skating, less hating.

There are great health benefits from roller skating:

  • Strengthens Heart Muscles
  • Provides Full Body Workout
  • Great Calorie Burner
  • Causes Less Stress To Joints

Not only is roller skating a positive for your health, but it's a positive for your family. Going on a skating date with your kids, is a great way to relive your childhood and offer an alternative activity.
