Here's a fun 'fill in the blank' puzzle for you:

I live in Wyoming, I (blank) to get to work.

Did you fill the blank with the word 'WALK'?

If so, you're part of 4% of Wyoming workers who walk to work. On the other hand, 77% of Wyomingites drive to work alone, 11% carpool, and 8% use another means of transportation (horse, bike, scooter, side-by-side... whatever). Those are the numbers from walking to work, what about walking to do your holiday shopping during November and December?

If you're walking in the evening, when the light is low, keep yourself safe by wearing bright or reflective clothing, having a flashlight or the light on your phone handy, avoiding distractions like texting and walking, and staying on the sidewalk or at least walking facing traffic.

It's also a good idea to travel in packs. If one person is walking in the dark, it's likely more difficult for drivers to see them. If there are two or more in your pack, you'll take up more space and increase the likelihood of being noticed.

Be safe, and help Wyoming keep our low numbers.
