Three historic planes fly in formation over the Black Hills of South Dakota.

The above image was posted on Facebook.

The one closest to the camera is a famous Wyoming Wildcatter that was a WWII trainer and since then has won numerous air races.

"Today was awesome. I restored the first plane in this pic, the second plane in this pic, and the third plane in this pic is the only one of its type flying."

That plane was originally owned by James C. Good, who was inducted into the Wyoming Aviation Hall of Fame back in 2016.

James Good, or Jim as he was called by those who knew him, was a veteran patrol pilot for Amoco and was an flight engineer and pilot for Christler Flying Service where he also designed aircraft spraying systems.

He flew for the army back in 1948 and was part of the Berlin Airlift.

He has a long list of credentials, but is most famous for that T-6 trainer you see in this photo.

With that trainer, called a Wildcatter, he flew to victory many times in the Reno Air Races.

With the passing of James Good the plane is now owned by Aaron Gerlock who keeps the old girl at the Casper Natrona County Airport.

You can hear it flying over Wyoming now and again.

You'll know the distinct sound of that engine.

He might be inverted or doing a loop, just for fun.

Watch Fire Planes Scoop Glendo Wyoming Reservoir

Breathtaking photos of badass pilots scooping water from Glendo Reservoir, Wyoming.

The fire is just off to the west in the Laramie Range.

It has grown out of control, literally overnight.

There is only one way to fight in this remote location.
