Report of Possible Fight Leads to Felony Arrest

Upon arrival, the officer contacted a male, later identified as Ronald Andrew Romero Sr., standing in the street.

The officer says Romero had a baseball bat in his right hand and began walking toward him, so he drew his service pistol and aimed it at Romero while giving verbal commands to drop the baseball bat.

"Romero stated he was going to kill me."

The officer says Romero refused to comply with verbal orders and stated he was going to kill him and other officers.

Romero was taken to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, where he was medically cleared, and booked into the Laramie County Detention Center for interference with a peace officer - injury, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
