Jennifer Lopez's busy life is streamlined? Say what? How is that humanly possible?

Well, that's exactly what the singer, actress, designer, mom of two, fragrancier, girlfriend of Casper Smart and 'American Idol' judge says about her beautiful life in the new April 2014 issue of InStyle. She graces the cover, looking totally spring-ready in multi-color, one-shoulder top and with highlighted waves.

Lopez does a lot, so you would expect her minutes to be rationed, which can often eliminate "moments" in life. But the diva insists she is just living her life and she isn't rigid or by the book anymore.

“You get to a point in life where it suddenly occurs to you that you don’t need all the things you once thought you did—that it’s really, well, convoluted," Lopez, who has a perfume portfolio comprised of 21 scents, said. "My life feels overblown sometimes, and I don’t want it to be. I want it to be streamlined. So I’m living a much more unscripted life now than I have in a long time."

About her new album, La Lopez, 44, said it's "tough" and that it has "strength, but also humor. It’s about being smarter about love—and not taking yourself so seriously."

We can't wait to hear it.

The multi-tasker also said she feels as good now as she did when she was 28. "I actually feel better, more confident," she reasoned. "Of course I still have the nerves, but now I know how to control them. When I was in my twenties, I wasn’t sure of myself. Now I can really stretch. I don’t have to stay in the box. At this point I can say to myself, ‘So what if I fall, so what?’ I’m going to get back up."

Well, she certainly has that luxury!

One area in life where Lopez keeps getting back up is love. Despite a few failed marriages and a Bennifer along the way, she remains hopelessly romantic, even if she has had to alter her perspective.

"In the past, love for me has always meant forever, and sure, you still nurse some of those fantasies, but I don’t try to force it anymore,” the singer mused. "I hung on to my fairytale ideals for a long time. But where I am now, what I’ve been through, there are no rules. There are lots of ways it can turn out instead of just one."

Amen, sister!

The issue lands March 14.
