Jessica Simpson gave birth to her first two children -- Maxwell, 2, and Ace, 7 months -- with only five months in between pregnancies. The back-to-back gestations wrought havoc on the body of the singer, actress and designer. But the Weight Watchers spokesmodel shared her advice and perspective on the post-baby body on 'Good Morning America' today (Feb. 18).

"I was so insecure - I couldn't even believe what I weighed," Simpson admitted in the revealing chat, which should help new moms dealing with the same issues.

She continued, "I don't think that I ever expected myself to see the numbers that I have seen on the scale."

Even though she went on walks and worked out while preggers for the second time, she still struggled.

"I had to learn that with my first and second pregnancy," she explained, which should helped inform new mothers. "My first pregnancy I ate a lot more, but my second pregnancy I ate enough, like I ate what I wanted to eat, but I stayed active and I think because I had gained so much weight with my first that I had to stay active throughout my second because I didn't know what to do with myself if I didn't."

She also pointed out that it's okay to eat for two, but with a little forethought, saying, "You are creating a life, and honestly it's not easy. It is a really hard thing to go through. And you deserve to eat your ice cream, you deserve to have your pancakes. Do whatever you want to do and then afterwards just know that you have to work really hard."

Simpson admitted that she is also busy planning her upcoming wedding to former NFL star Eric Johnson. She has set a date, but elected not to share it. She would not even drop a hint about the season during which she will swap those vows. Rats! Foiled! Although we are sure she will share the details when she is good and ready.

Also, for fans of Simpson's music, she revealed that she is indeed planning a return.

"I want to sing again," Simpson gushed. "I want my daughter to see me on stage. My fiancé has never even watched me perform. Which is crazy. But that is my passion, that is my love, like, that is everything that I am."

We cannot wait to welcome her back to performing.
