Everyone who complained about and criticized Lana Del Rey‘s ‘Saturday Night Live’ performance? ‘SNL’ heard you. The show, using its signature snark, brought the ‘Video Games’ singer back to defend herself this weekend.

‘SNL’ starlet Kristen Wiig donned a butterscotch colored wig and an almost exact replica of Del Rey’s lace gown from the notorious performance in a ‘Weekend Update’ cameo. When anchor Seth Meyers merely mentioned that she performed a few weeks ago, Wiig — as Del Rey — responded in Del Rey’s softspoken tone saying hard-edged words. ”That’s what I thought I did Seth, but based on the public’s response, I must have instead clubbed a baby seal while singing the Taliban national anthem.”

The faux Del Rey also responded to critics who say she’s a fabricated creation because of her name change from Lizzy Grant. “No serious musician would ever change their name. Except for maybe Cher, Sting, Lady Gaga, Jay-Z, everyone else in hip-hop and of course Bob Dylan.” Using LDR’s hair tousling and sporting her signature talon fingernails, Wiig absolutely nailed her impression.

Del Rey admitted that audiences find her “stiff, distant and weird,” and for good reason: “I’m stiff,” she said, her body awkwardly still and eyes staring blankly into space, “distant and weird.”
