The Wyoming Highway Patrol has identified the man involved in Sunday's incident along I-25 in Natrona County.

The Patrol has identified him as 38 year old Jimmie Files out of Cheyenne.

Charges against him are still pending.

Following WHP policy, the two troopers involved with the incident have been placed on paid administrative leave, while the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigations, looks into the case.

A Wyoming State Trooper got a complaint of a pickup driving recklessly on Interstate 25 at 3:34 p.m. Sunday, August 21st.

The Trooper located the vehicle northbound on I-25 near Douglas.

The Trooper ran the license plate and discovered the vehicle was stolen.

After a second Trooper arrived, they tried to stop the stolen pickup, but the driver did not stop.

As speeds reached 100 mph, a third WHP Trooper deployed Stop Stick tire deflation devices east of Casper.

After the pickup rolled over the spikes, he crossed the median and began traveling north in the southbound lanes of I-25 for about one mile.

The suspect eventually drove back into the median where a WHP Trooper rammed the pickup with his patrol car which caused the man to stop in the median.

The suspect was shot as he drove at officers who were out of their patrol cars on foot.

After being shot, the man rammed a patrol car and left the interstate to the north and went off road into the prairie.

He was eventually taken into custody at 4:16 p.m.  between I-25 and US Highway 20/26 near Blackmore Road and Lathrop Road east of Casper.

No officers were hurt in the incident.

The Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation is investigating.
