In honor of Veterans Day, Natrona County School District art students are creating one ceramic poppy for each Wyoming soldier who has died in wartime, going back to the Spanish-American War.

Southridge art teacher, Chris Dvarishkis, created and organized the project which is inspired by the Tower of London Poppies of 2014*. There are 17 schools in Casper that participated to create 1,796 ceramic poppies. The poppies will be sold via an ebay store with proceeds going towards charities that serve Wyoming veterans. The poppies will be on display at the Eastridge Mall November 9th-December 13th near the food court.

We want to say thank you to our enlisted men and women, and their families, in Casper who sacrifice so much for all of us all year long. Now through Veterans Day – November 11th – we’re supporting “Townsquare Cares for Military Families.”
