Oliver North To Be Speaker At Boys and Girls Club Event In Casper
Retired Marine Colonel and current President of the National Rifle Association Oliver North will be the featured speaker at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Wyoming’s Annual Awards & Recognition Breakfast on August 28, 2019.
Colonel North is a combat decorated U.S. Marine, serving in pivotal missions in American history, and played a key role in the release of American hostages in Lebanon in the 1980’s under President Ronald Reagan, according to a release from BGCCW.

"His combat awards include the Silver Star, the Bronze Star for valor, and two Purple Hearts for wounds in action.
From 1983-86, he served as the counter-terrorism coordinator on the National Security Council and helped plan the rescue of U.S. students on Grenada, the rescue of American hostages, and the raids on Muammar Gadhafi’s terror bases. North is the author of 17 best-selling books and is the co-founder of Freedom Alliance, an organization serving wounded U.S. military personnel and their families."
The 21st Annual Awards & Recognition to benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs is scheduled for Wednesday, August 28, 2019th at the Casper Events Center. This year the club will be honoring Casper residents Phil & Jody Schmidt, who organizers say have made a tremendous impact on business and community in Casper. Table reservations will be accepted beginning in June.
The proceeds will support operations of the10 BGCCW sites in three counties, serving some 10,000 youth every year through memberships and outreach.
