Listen to a Snippet of Pink’s ‘The King Is Dead But the Queen Is Alive’
We guess the truth about love is that it’s not a monarchy.
Following the release of ‘Blow Me (One Last Kiss),’ Pink is back with yet another breakup tune — albeit this time, it’s only a snippet. A clip of ‘The King Is Dead But the Queen Is Alive’ hit the Internets, and it’s trademark Pink all the way.The song’s language, at least in the snippet provided, requires a little less tweaking than the parenthetical part of the title of Pink’s most recent single. From the raucous “Blah blah blah!” to the tongue-firmly-in-cheek “And unlike you’re anatomy / I’m glad I’ve got it in me,” it’s got Pink’s sass, which is as much her signature as her hair color is, written all over it. She transforms a bad relationship into an empowering revolution in this arena-ready jam.
Most of Pink’s biggest hits have been inspired by her drama and trauma of married life with her motocross hubby, Carey Hart, and this one sounds pretty similar to ‘So What’ in terms of both its subject matter and yell-along chorus.
‘The King Is Dead But the Queen Is Alive’ will likely appear on Pink’s new album, ‘The Truth About Love,’ hitting shelves on Sept. 18. Not gonna lie, we’re pretty stoked to hear the full version of this — and we bet the video will be amazing. We’re picturing guitars and guillotines.
