Secret Rihanna and Chris Brown Duet ‘Put It Up’ Surfaces [LISTEN]
Rihanna is much better off without Chris Brown in her personal life, but a previously unreleased but newly surfaced track on which the pair collaborated shows that at one time Rihanna and Chris made great music together.
"Put It Up" is a slinky, sexy number that was reportedly intended to appear on Brown's last album. Rihanna, however, wouldn't let him release the track after the two broke up for the second time.
In an interview with MTV two years ago, Brown said of the song, “I wanted to do an R&B record with Rihanna because I didn’t want it to be the same four-on-the-floor, pop. At the end of the day, that’s what they expect from us, so I wanted to do more of a record that nobody really heard her sing on as far as that genre.”
He also called the song "youthful and at the same time sexy," which sounds like a completely fitting description of the slowed-down track.
You may recall that the onetime couple also worked together on the song "Nobody's Business," which appeared on Rihanna's last album and was another winner. The track could very well have been an autobiographical message from the couple, who had one of the more controversial relationships in Hollywood. It included the lyrics: "Ain't nobody's business / Your love is perfection / Please point me in the right direction / I'm a give you all my affection / Every touch becomes infectious."
