Soaking up the Wisdom with my Great Aunt and Uncle
My great Aunt and Uncle, are both in their 80's and some of my favorite people. Full of wisdom and just reminding people to be good and positive. Life is so short and I am so happy I was able to take a quick trip and see my Uncle Decker and Aunt Arlene.
My Uncle Decker has recently gone on Hospice but is in good spirits when he can be. They have been married for 63 years and they are just chugging along and loving each other even in the roughest of times.
Things weren't always easy for these two but divorce was not an option in those days and they learned to work and compromise on things. They have great stories and memories to relish in. I enjoy them very much. From stories of love and family to working for government officials and as a firefighter.
They have lived in Santa Fe since the 70's and lived in Albuquerque before. People think it is dry and dirt in New Mexico, but Santa Fe is actually in the mountains at 7200 feet my aunt and uncle said. So it is high elevation and I could feel it for sure.
They are the best tour guides having been there so long.
