Hip-hop mogul supreme, Sean "Diddy" Combs shared a public access phone number for fans, people looking for employment and other what he called like-minded individuals.
For today's Throwback Thursday, I had to grab one of my all time favorite Hip-Hop songs and videos: "It's All About The Benjamins". I was actually in Japan when the song first came out on a DJ Clue mixtape. Sean "Diddy" Combs was still using the Puff Daddy moniker at the time. The beat was the first thing that grabbed me. It also was my first time hearing Diddy's then new Bad Boy Records signees, The Lox.
Super Cat is a dancehall/reggae artist born in Kingston Jamaica, best known in America for doing remix versions of his songs with popular hip-hop and R&B artist of the era. This video marks the first time I ever head the late, great, Notorious B.I.G. (along with Sean Diddy Combs who was going by Puff Daddy at the time). Biggies now famous line, which has been sampled and become a staple in slang terminlogy all around the world, “I love it when you call me Big Poppa”, was first used on this track.
