Thanks to Netflix, I had a movie flashback to that time when Sarah Jessica Parker and Hugh Grant made a movie about Wyoming.

The movie was called "Did You Hear About the Morgans?" and it was generally slammed when it was released back in 2009. If you look at the ratings from Metacritic, you'll see the movie only has a score of 27 (that's bad) with the late Roger Ebert of the Chicago Sun-Times mocking the plot saying that it was more or less a remake of a remake.

Without giving away any spoilers, the gist of the movie is that the two main characters witness a mob hit and get sent from the big city to Wyoming under witness protection. Yes, the plot is kinda cornball, but that's not the point of this.

My advice would be not to overlook this movie as it generally is very kind in its portrayal of Wyoming. People leave their doors unlocked because they're not concerned about crime. The doctor in town offers to let Hugh Grant and Sarah Jessica Parker borrow his truck as long as they bring it back the next day (acting like that's no big deal). The movie opens with Sam Elliott buying his wife (played by Mary Steenburgen) a rifle. Yep. That's Wyoming.

Take my advice and check this one out if you have Netflix. Won't cost you a dime to stream it and I think you'll come away pleased with how our state is portrayed. Nice to see the honorable qualities of Wyoming portrayed on the big screen for a change.
