‘The Sandlot’ Celebrates Milestone Anniversary with Cast Reunion [VIDEO]
The gang got back together recently for a little pickup game, without fear of The Beast.
Every so often there is a movie that comes out that becomes an instant classic. You immediately fall in love with it and you can watch it tirelessly. For me and so many other kids whose childhood was predominantly spent in the 90's, that movie is The Sandlot.
"You're killing me, Smalls."
Yep, that film. The story about a new kid on the block, Scotty Smalls, making friends with a group of boys who love to play baseball at the old sandlot in their hometown over the summer. The only thing that could ruin their fun, is a giant dog that lives just beyond the left field fence. When Scotty loses his dad's Babe Ruth-autographed ball over that fence, it's up to the boys to rally together to get it back.
I always secretly hoped they would make a film where a girl joined the team and they would cast me to play that role.
Would you believe me if I told you that film was 25 years old? To celebrate this milestone anniversary, NBC got the guys back together again to play some ball. Everyone was there, except Benny "The Jet" Rodriguez, played by Mike Vitar. For whatever reason, he was unable to attend, but that didn't take away from the feelings of nostalgia.
See for yourself...
