Tino Coury is getting fans pumped up for the release of his upcoming debut album with his new single, ‘Boyfriend,’ which you can listen to exclusively for the first time here at PopCrush! Coury broke onto the mainstream scene with his 2010 hit ‘Diary,’ and we think he might have another Top 40 hit on his hands with this new track.

‘Boyfriend,’ which appears on Coury’s forthcoming LP ‘This One’s For,’ was produced by KadisANDSean, who are known for their work with artists like G-Unit and Brandy. The groovable song has a hip-pop feel, with bumping 808s, spacey, swirling synth, and Coury’s distinctive, R&B-inspired vocals that are reminiscent of artists like Chris Brown and Trey Songz.

The beat picks up during the extremely catch chorus, where Coury sings, “Cheatin’ on her boyfriend / la, la, la / I’m about to take her home / Treat her like my girlfriend / la, la, la.” ‘Boyfriend’ also incorporates a sample (a high-pitched, digitally altered version of the line “I wanna rock right now“) of Rob Base and DJ E-Z Rock’s ’80s rap jam ‘It Takes Two.’ However, in Coury’s ‘Boyfriend’ he switches out “rock” for a much dirtier, four letter word (don’t worry — it’s censored for all of you who are at the office, hanging with grandma, minding children, etc.).

If you like what you hear on ‘Boyfriend,’ be sure to stay tuned for more Tino Coury music updates. His debut album ‘This One’s For’ doesn’t have a definite release date, but the crooner is shooting to have the LP out some time in 2012. In addition to working with producers KadisANDSean, Coury’s upcoming release also finds the singer working with production team Da Internz (they produced Rihanna‘s ‘Birthday Cake’ remix and Big Sean‘s ‘Dance (A$$)) as well as co-writers like Jackie Boyz (Madonna, Justin Bieber, David Guetta).
