Vin Diesel decided he wanted to know the answer to the following question: What happened to his Fast & Furious character, Dom Toretto, between the first and fourth Furious installments?

Diesel chose to answer that question himself when he wrote and directed a short film that revolves around his character called Los Bandoleros. The short film itself is only 20 minutes long (hence the descriptor 'short') and features Toretto as the star (because of course) and also has other actors from the famous films reprising their roles. The short film even goes on to act as a sort of precursor to the 2009 Fast & Furious film by giving fans some more backstory .

If you have the special edition DVD of Fast & Furious or the Blu-ray version, you've probably already seen the short film as it was included as a special feature. But if you do not own the DVD or have a Blu-ray player -- because, honestly, who even has a Blu-ray player? -- then be sure to check it out in the video above.

According to the A.V. Club, the short is best appreciated when watching after The Fast and the Furious but before Fast & Furious.
In other Diesel-related news, the actor recently became a father. He named his baby girl Pauline -- after the late Paul Walker. He said, "There’s no other person that I was thinking about as I was cutting this umbilical cord. I knew he was there. And it felt like a way to keep his memory a part of my family and a part of my world."
