You Probably Weren’t Born In Wyoming
It used to be that most people died within 25 miles of where they grew up, until the end of World War II, when and the intense development of our railroads and highway systems opened up America. People started moving and they still do today.
But we don’t move as much if you live in Louisiana, Michigan, or Ohio. A new study presents the numbers on people living in every state where they were born. They ranked the states by how likely people are to stay there until they die.
Currently, 3/4 of people living in Michigan, Ohio and Louisiana are native sons and daughters.
The Top 10 states where people living there were also born there are:
Louisiana
Michigan
Ohio
Pennsylvania
Mississippi
Wisconsin
Iowa
Alabama
West Virginia
Kentucky.
The states with the least number of born & raised residents includes Wyoming.
The 10 states with the smallest percentage of people who were born there are:
Nevada
Florida
Arizona
Wyoming
Alaska
New Hampshire
Colorado
Delaware
Oregon
Maryland
Many were born here by fate. I moved here by choice. But I am far from my birthplace, Iowa.
