In Wyoming this year, it is estimated that more than 2,800 new cases of cancer will be diagnosed and about 1,000 people will lose their battle against the devastating disease. Cancer is the second most common cause of death in the United States, exceeded only by heart disease and accounts for nearly 1 out of every 4 deaths.

It is hard to find anyone who has not experienced the loss of a loved one to cancer, which is why the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) is holding its first-ever Happy Hour for Hope and is inviting the public and media to attend:

What: Happy Hour for Hope

Who: People passionate about finding hope for the next drug, better treatment and eventual end to cancer as we know it.

When: July 23, 4:30 – 6:30 p.m.

Where: Backwards Distillery, 158 Progress Circle, Mills

Why: Because cancer touches us all.

For a minimum $10 donation, each guest will receive an ACS CAN membership and $2 off drinks (courtesy of Backwards Distilling). Free hors d'oeuvres are provided by HQ BBQ and Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory to add to the fun with great people for a great cause!

ACS CAN, the nonprofit, nonpartisan advocacy affiliate of the American Cancer Society, supports evidence-based policy and legislative solutions designed to eliminate cancer as a major health problem. ACS CAN works to encourage elected officials and candidates to make cancer a top national priority. ACS CAN gives ordinary people extraordinary power to fight cancer with the training and tools they need to make their voices heard. For more information, visit www.acscan.org. Contributions or gifts to ACS CAN are not tax deductible.
