Maybe it's just because I spent the first half of my life living in the South, where winter driving rarely was an issue (generally didn't snow or freeze, and when it did, we all stayed home). For some reason, I've never gotten comfortable driving at more than in-town speeds on Wyoming highways when it's wintry - you do it out of necessity, but it's always a white-knuckle affair for me.
