It’s just over a year since Amy Winehouse‘s tragic death due to her alcohol issues and now, the ‘Rehab’ singer’s ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil, long regarded as the person who introduced her to hard drugs, is fighting for his life. He has been induced into a coma and is on life support. Fielder-Civil, 30, reportedly ingested a toxic cocktail of booze and drugs earlier this week.

Fielder-Civil was found choking on his own vomit in bed with his eyes rolled back into his head and with a grey pallor. He was reportedly drinking with a pal and taking heroin and morphine, according to The Sun. He was rushed to the hospital as multiple organs failed. He also reportedly swallowed his own tongue.

Sarah Aspin, the mother of Fielder-Civil’s son Jack, 15 months, spoke about her beloved’s condition, saying, “The doctors say they don’t know the prognosis. They said they put him in a coma to help him and due to infection. I’m praying he’ll survive, but I’m having to prepare myself that he may never wake up.” Doctors informed her that he could have permanent brain damage.

She also revealed that they were even discussing marriage before this incident. “I just want to cry all the time — but I have to be strong for our son Jack,” she said. That’s important, to keep little Jack as her priority.

How tragic. Fielder-Civil, who met Aspin in rehab, was on probation after being released from jail and appears to have suffered a relapse. He was incarcerated for stealing and brandishing a fake gun.

Winehouse’s father Mitch even spoke out, telling fans to pray for his former son-in-law. His tweet is below. He does not personally blame Fielder-Civil for his daughter’s death, despite reports to the contrary. Amy also had her former husband’s name tattooed on her and she did adore him, which Mitch pointed out.
