For over 18 years I've told my wife and family about this crazy job I did for almost no money and I found a pay stub to prove just how dumb I was.

Back in '84, when I was 11-years-old, I worked at an ice skating rink DJ, announcing songs giving away prizes, for $1.85 an hour. There were no safety measures in those days, I sat in a freezing cold hut and ran around the rink with no protection, narrowly avoiding any clumsy teenager to fall and cut my face open with an ice skate.

Looking back now I realize that perhaps I really don't need a raise after all.
