Britney Spears Writes Letter About Adele for ELLE’s Women in Music Issue
Everyone loves Adele. This is an indisputable fact. If you don't, you might be an emotionless robot. Britney Spears is one of those on the long list of people who admire the 'Skyfall' songstress, and she even penned a letter to Adele in ELLE's Women in Music Issue.
Britney's ode to Adele reads:
Her voice is just not like any other voice out there. It draws the emotion out of you. A lot of her songs kind of put me in a trance. We were both at the VMAs, and they were like, ‘Do you want to meet Adele?’ And I was like, ‘Um, yes!’ She was even better than I imagined, in person – she’s so incredibly down-to-earth. You can tell she hasn’t gotten caught up in that pop music machine thing – which is easy to get caught in – and she hasn’t just listened to what executives were telling her to do. All of her stuff is hers, and that’s really amazing.
Aww! Such a sweet tribute. It really does say a lot about a person when they can stay grounded in a world where they are "yes'ed" to death and can even be bullied into compromising the integrity of their work. Britney slightly acknowledges her struggle with fame in the line, "You can tell she hasn’t gotten caught up in that pop music machine thing – which is easy to get caught in." If anyone knows about the pop music machine... it's Brit!
Adele is one of ELLE's cover models for their annual Women in Music issue along with Alicia Keys and Rita Ora -- three strong, talented and beautiful women in the pop music world. You picked 'em right this year, ELLE!
