Congratulations to Amelia Marie Osterman, an 8th grader from McCormick Junior High School for winning the Doodle for Google competition, according to a press release.

This competition was open to all students in grades K through 12th country-wide. The competition was to redesign the Google logo with "When I grow up, I hope..." as the theme. Amelia represented the Cowboy State and won with her doodle theme of "Space Ingenuity."

Amelia's school is supporting her in any way they can, they held a surprise assembly just for her. The competition isn't over yet, Amelia now has a chance to be the overall winner for the whole United States. Starting June 3rd you will be able to go online and vote for Amelia. The voting will stop on June 7th, the public votes will get the state winners down to five finalists (one in each grade group). Later in June, Google will announce the winners and one lucky winner will have their doodle featured on Google's homepage for one day.

The National winner will receive a $30,000 college scholarship and the winner's school will receive a $50,000 tech package to help improve whatever tech is needed at the school.
