Drake’s New Single Pays Tribute To The Wu-Tang Clan [AUDIO]
Drake has built up his career very well, even making what some have called a backwards transition from acting to music (Drake played the wheelchair-ridden Jimmy Brooks on Degrassi: The Next Generation). Regardless, with multiple hits off only 2 studio albums, numerous guest appearances and over dozen musical awards, his third effort is sure to please. Or is it?
After releasing a single yesterday entitled "Wu-Tang Forever" (named after the Clan's second studio album of the same name) off his new album Nothing Was The Same, Wu-Tang Clan fans all around the world are in an uproar. Being a die-hard Wu-fan myself (I have 2 Wu-Tattoos and darn near every album, single or side project they've ever done), I had to hear the track for myself.
It's not a bad song, first of all. What it is though is a tribute. It's not done in the Wu-Tang style, although it does sample one of their hits: "It's Yourz". I for one think it's great that he named the song after their second studio album, which to this day is still considered a classic. Drizzy's new album is scheduled for release on September 24th, 2013. Listen to the song and judge for yourself.
