When people cross the boarder of Wyoming and come into the state to spend their hard earned money, they seem to lose all common sense. Year after year the stories come out that someone thought it was a good idea to get to close to the Bison.

Some people think that the warnings aren't meant for them and it's ok that they pet the 'Fluffy Cow' or get really close for a picture, but it's NOT ok.

Officials recommend that you stay at least 25 yards away from bison. Not to be mean, but to keep you from taking a bison horn where the sun don't shine.

5 Important Reasons To STAY AWAY from the Bison.

The bull (male) bison can weigh as much as 2,000 pounds which is 1 ton.

If you need something to compare that to, the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia, PA weighs in at 2,080 pounds. The Volkswagon Beetle weighs about 2100 pounds, so a bison weighs as much as a small car.

Bison can run up to 35 miles per hour

The current 'fastest man in the world' Usain Bolt runs at 28mph. The average human male runs at 8mph and average female runs at 6 mph

Bison living in Yellowstone, the Tetons and many other tourist areas are WILD ANIMALS

You're in their space, they're not in your space.

Bison stand 6 - 6.5 feet tall and have the strength and size in their favor

If you think you're strong, you've got nothing on a bison. Your kids are in even worse shape.
