New Spring Cornhole Leagues Are Set To Rock Casper
For years, you've been able to participate in many types of leagues around Casper. Leagues like golf, softball, tennis, basketball, hockey, and baseball. In the last couple of years, pickleball has been sweeping the nation and is said to be America's fastest-growing sport, and sure enough, you can join a pickleball league in Casper.
This spring, the Casper Recreation Division is offering another new league, and this time it's one I can really get behind. Cornhole.
If you didn't know how popular cornhole is, you can watch it on TV and streaming networks like ESPN, CBS Sports, YouTube, Facebook, and there's even an American Cornhole League (ACL) streaming channel.
I know, I was surprised too. I've only played it for fun at barbecues, tailgates, and sippin' on suds at a bar. If you're the same and you feel that your cornhole skills are better than everyone else's, you now have a chance to show off those skills and be crowned the Casper Cornhole Champion.
According to the Casper Rec Division:
This doubles league is open to players who are new to the sport as well as those with a more advanced skillset. Registration includes all league play and a season-ending playoff. Boards and bags will be provided by the Casper Recreation Center.
League play will be on Friday nights, from March 27 through May 15. There will be adult and youth leagues available. The cost for adult teams will be $110, and for youth teams $60. The registration deadline is March 15, but most leagues fill up quickly, so don't wait to sign up.
Cornhole league information is available at the Casper Recreation Center.
