Does A New Beer Study Have Wyoming’s Go-to Beer Correct?

Wyomingites take their beer seriously. With over 40 local breweries, there's no doubt the Wyoming beer game is a strong one.

A new study shows each state's most popular national beer, and even though they've gone through a rough patch, Bud Light is still the top brew in the Cowboy State.

Innerbody Research used Google Trends to compile each state's top beer. The data was used from 2023, and we all know that Bud Light took a hit in the spring of 2023 after being boycotted by many beer drinkers. Even with that hit, Bud Light was so far out in front of other beers that it's still at the top of the list. Overall, Corona has overtaken Bud Light nationwide as the most popular beer.

Having spoken with representatives from Anheuser Busch over the last year, the boycott has undoubtedly impacted Wyoming beer buying. Coors Light, Miller Lite, and Michelob Ultra have all made considerable strides in Wyomnig's beer sales.

We used Google Trends to compile beer search data for the top 24 beers. With this data, we were able to identify each state’s top beer, find out which state searched for beer the most (crowning them the most beer-loving state), and determine which beers are the most popular in the U.S.

Innerbody's research also showed that Wyoming was one of the least beer-loving states in the country.
