Where To Legally Dispose Of Your Hunting Remains In Wyoming
This may be a dumb question, but do you know where to dispose of your big game carcass when you're finished processing it? If you answered "on the side of the road," you're wrong.
Some spots around the state let you dispose of your animal's remains.
- First and foremost, if you field dress and debone your animal, it's absolutely legal to leave it in the area where you killed it.
- Second, if you field dress the animal and bring the rest home to process yourself, you can drop the remains off at a few places. Depending on which part of the state you're in, carcass disposal sites are available throughout the state.
Click here to see the WGFD interactive map, but here are the locations:
- In the Casper area, you can drop the carcass off at the Casper landfill on Station Rd in Casper, the Glenrock carcass dumpster on Mormon Canyon Road, or the Douglas Transfer Station on Olds Road in Douglas.
