Living in Wyoming gives you many options. One of those options is available year-round, and that's fishing.

Depending on the time of year and what the weather is doing, there's always an option to put a line in the water.

The Wyoming Game and Fish Commission recently released the 2025 fishing regulation guide, which provides anglers in the Cowboy State with an updated rule book.

One highlighted section in the regulations guide is the state's creel limit, which is the number of fish you can harvest in one day. You also need to know the possession limit, which is the number of fish you can have at one time.

For instance, Walleye state creel and possession limits are both 6. So, if you have 2 Walleye in your freezer at home, you're legally only allowed to possess four more.

In many cases, the state creel and possession limits are the same, but in other cases, they are not. This means you need to know the limits for the type of fish and fishing area you're fishing in.

This list is the statewide creel and possession limits directly from the 2025 WGFD Fishing Regulation Guide.

It can be a little confusing, but that's why the regulation guide is released.

Each year, Wyoming stocks millions of fish in thousands of fisheries to offer Wyomingites and the state's visitors great fishing options. Whether in one of the great reservoirs, rivers, creeks, streams, or ponds, Wyoming's fishing is some of the best in the country.
