Wyoming High School Skiing Scoreboard: Jan. 2-3, 2026

The 2026 Wyoming High School Nordic skiing season will finally start after a 21-day delay on Friday and Saturday with the Pinedale Invitational at the White Pines Nordic Center. Teams were supposed to begin the new season three weeks ago in Jackson, but those races were postponed due to unsafe racing conditions resulting from a lack of snow and other factors. That event has not been rescheduled yet. This will be the first regular-season competition in the Wyoming prep season.

WYOPREPS WEEK 3 SKIING SCHEDULE 2025-26

Friday will be a 7.5km skate or freestyle race with a mini mass start. That means groups of eight skiers will start every 30 seconds. The race on Friday will begin at 1 p.m., with the varsity girls’, followed by the varsity boys. Saturday is a 7.5km classic race. Saturday’s race starts at 10 a.m. with the varsity boys’ skiing, followed by the varsity girls.

The schools competing this weekend are Casper Kelly Walsh, Casper Natrona County, Cody, Jackson, Lander, Laramie, Pinedale, and Sheridan.

The race results will be posted after the competitions are complete.

Friday Freestyle Race Results

Kayley Alicke of Sheridan won the first girls' race of the season by over 30 seconds with a time of 23:50.6. Macey Alicke from Sheridan took second, and Olivia Tolson of Pinedale took third on her home course.

In the boys' division, Braden Bosco from Natrona County won the race at 21:45.2. Pinedale's Nile Swenson finished second, and Jackson's Ellery Preheim took third.

Saturday Classic Race Results

Olivia Tolson of Pinedale won the girls' race on her home course with a winning time of 26:22.5. Raina Wachob from Cody placed second, ahead of teammate Hallie Schramm.

In the boys' race, Jackson's Ellery Preheim won it with a time of 22:28.5. Braden Bosco of Natrona County took second, and Logan Heller from Lander finished third.

Pinedale Inv. 7.5km Classic Results 1-3-26

Final Girls Team Scores = Cody 194, Jackson 171, Laramie 112, Sheridan 105, Pinedale & Lander tied at 104, Natrona County 89, Kelly Walsh 55.

Final Boys Team Scores = Lander 179, Laramie 170, Sheridan 143, Pinedale 135, Natrona County 122, Jackson 104, Kelly Walsh 71, Cody 6.

Alpine Skiing Delayed

The 2026 downhill skiing season was slated to start next week at Hogadon Basin Ski Area on Casper Mountain, but those races, hosted by Kelly Walsh, are postponed to Feb. 5 and Feb. 6, 2026.
