Wyoming has some great dinosaur museums.

Some of them are closer than you think and just waiting for you to show up.

Join in the holiday festivities at the Tate Geological Museum during their Holiday Open House on Saturday, December 2. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

You'll want to bring the kids to this one.

The event is free and open to the public.

We know you love that "FREE" part.

The always popular Santasaurus dinosaur will be on hand for fun photos.

Kids will enjoy face painting, fossil cast making, and creating a dinosaur ornament.

The Tate is located on the southern end of the Casper College campus, just look for the giant T. Rex.

The mission of the Tate Geological Museum at Casper College is to provide educational resources to the community, researchers, and visitors.

They are a regional Earth Science Education Center that is maintained by exhibits, educational programs, active collecting, and collections preservation.

They are always FREE and open to the public.

You can find the museum at 125 College Dr. in Casper, Wyoming. Just follow this link for the map.

You can't miss it, because there is a lifesize T. Rex statue right out front.

The Tate's big claim to fame is  Dee, an 11,000-year-old Mammoth that was discovered not too far away, back in 2006.

That's not just some Mammoth. Dee is the oldest, largest, and most complete Columbian Mammoth on display in the country.

Many triceratops have been found in the area and you'll see much of that work going on, and on display, at the Tate.

You'll also see Stan the T. Rex on display (most of him anyway).

Get up close and personal with Stan's skull and look at those impressive teeth.

Thermopolis Wyoming has one of the most interesting and active dinosaur museums in the world. As they continued to make new finds in the area they put in on display, so you can discover and learn.
