When I'm in heavy Wyoming wind, I just take my hat off and hold it in my hand. I got tired of chasing it. I see other people holding their hands on their heads. Some forget and end up chasing their hat as they cuss and feel like an idiot in front of everyone.

In the video below, you'll see a clever Wyoming man who taught his smart dog to chase his hat when it blows off. No cat would ever do that for you.

The dog thinks it's fun. He probably is hoping that hat will blow off every time a gust kicks up. Do you own a dog? Do you think you could train your's to do that?

I see 3 possible problems with this clever solution to a Wyoming wind problem.

1) Some dogs will want you to chase them to get the hat back. It's fun for the dog, but now you are chasing the dog and your hat at the same time.

2) Once you have your dog with its hat in its mouth, it might want to wrestle you for it. Fun for the dog, but you still don't have your hat. You'll run the risk of damaging that hat trying to get it out of the dog's mouth.

3) Once you get your hat back, you'll hesitate to put it back on your head because it's full of DOG SLOBBER! Dog slobber can stain your hat, too. That's nothing but gross and gross-looking.

So if you're going to teach your dog to fetch your hat when it blows off in the wind, make sure it's a hat that you don't care about.
