18-Year-Old Cheyenne Man Being Sought on Felony Warrant Arrested

An 18-year-old Cheyenne man who was being sought on a felony warrant for aggravated assault and aggravated robbery is now behind bars, police say.

According to a booking sheet, Louis "Louie" Carabajal was taken into custody at the Loaf 'N Jug at 4373 E. Lincolnway at 2:09 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29.

Laramie County Circuit Court Judge Antoinette Williams signed a warrant for Carabajal on Nov. 3, 2023, five days after police say they were called to an assault in which he was involved.

Police say the victim, Jecori Corbin, told them that he was at a party at an unknown apartment in the Capitol Greens complex when his friend, Javoun Ousley, received a photograph of Ousley's sister with a tooth knocked out.

The two then reportedly left the party and went to Joey Carabajal Jr.'s home at 1008 W. Leisher Rd.

Police say Corbin told them he was afraid to enter the home due to issues Joey Carbajal Jr. had with his "brother," Johnny Munoz, who's currently on trial for the shooting death of 15-year-old BayLee Carabajal-Clark.

Corbin reportedly told police that Joey Carabajal Jr., Louie Carbajal, Zachary Clark Carabajal, and Jaidah Carabajal were inside the home and got angry that he was there and started yelling.

Jaidah Carabajal then reportedly said, "His brother killed my sister, kill him now," and when Corbin walked out to the backyard to leave, Joey Carabajal Jr. dropped his gun and started punching Corbin in the face.

Corbin reportedly told police that while Joey Carabajal Jr. was punching him, Louie Carbajal and Zachary Clark Carabajal, who also had guns, took off his shoes and stole his phone, debit card, and backpack, which contained his PlayStation 4.

And when Joey Carabajal Jr. stopped punching him, he saw Zachary Clark Carabajal point a gun at him and say, "I'ma blow this (N-word)."

Corbin then reportedly got up and ran out the back gate and through the alley to get away, but Joey Carabajal Jr. chased him and pointed his gun at him saying, "I'm gonna f------ kill you, Jecori."

According to a booking sheet, Joey Carabajal Jr. was arrested in the 1100 block of West 5th Street shortly after noon on Nov. 1, after police and United States marshals contacted him on a traffic stop.

Police say Joey Carbajal Jr. had a bench warrant for his arrest for bond revocation that had been signed that day by Laramie County District Court Judge Thomas Campbell, and a warrant for one count of simple battery that had been signed by Judge Williams on Oct. 30, 2023.

Joey Carabajal Jr. was booked into the Laramie County Detention Center on the warrants, and on Nov. 13 was bound over to District Court on charges of aggravated assault and aggravated robbery.

Louis Carabajal is scheduled to make his initial appearance in Circuit Court this afternoon, Nov. 30, at 2 p.m.
