Cheyenne Man Sentenced to 3-8 Years in Prison for Child Porn
A 21-year-old Cheyenne man who in June pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography will spend at least the next three years in prison.
Laramie County District Court Judge Thomas Campbell on Monday, Oct. 30, sentenced Logan Gregory Gosselin to three to eight years.
According to court documents, the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation and Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received a cyber tip from Snapchat saying Gosselin had been distributing suspected child pornography on his account.
The crimes occurred between February and October of last year.
Gosselin was originally charged with 11 counts of sexual exploitation of a child -- five for creating/receiving child pornography, five for possessing child pornography, and one for explicit sexual conduct -- but the state dismissed 10 of the counts as part of a plea agreement.
The state also agreed to limit its argument at sentencing to not less than five years, nor more than eight years.
Had Gosselin been convicted of all 11 counts, he would have faced 30 to 122 years in prison.
