In her video for 'Q.U.E.E.N.,' Janelle Monae is the notorious leader of Wonderland who launched Project Q.U.E.E.N., a 21st century musical weapons program.

She ends up stuck in an exhibit of a living museum where rebels throughout history are frozen in suspended animation. Monae is rendered still, as is her dangerous accomplice Badoula Oblongata (aka Erykah Badu).

When two skeptical girls, who look like Monae and Erykah Badu, visit the space, they throw a record on the player and wake the rebels up. The power is in the music.

The video is dressed in black, white and red tones, with lots of stripes. There's also plenty of fabulous hairstyles between our fearless heroines, ranging from a suicide roll to a pompadour to a '60s girl group helmet head bob to an afro!

The song has lots of parts, and Monae has a look and a dance for each of them. The song is super fun and funkdafied. So is the video.
