Update (Oct. 25, 10:42 a.m.):

Hov's free concert in Cleveland will take place on Nov. 4. The location hasn't been announced yet, but you can sign up for a free ticket right here.

Original Story:

Back in Oct. 2008, Jay Z headed to Ohio to throw the Last Chance for Change concert with LeBron James. The concert was to show support for Barack Obama weeks before the election that would find Barry trump John McCain, and it proved successful. Eight years later, Hov is looking to do the same for Hillary Clinton.

A rep for the Democratic presidential nominee confirmed to Buzzfeed Monday (Oct. 24) that Jay Z will be holding a concert in Cleveland aimed at mobilizing young black voters to get to the polls. It's a key constituency for Hillary, who has struggled with the young black bloc, perhaps because the minimum drug sentencing that her husband activated in 1994 so drastically affected blacks.

Many in hip-hop have interpreted some of Hillary's campaign moves, like mentioning the hot sauce in her bag or hitting the dab, as desperate reaches for young black voters, but to align with Jay, who so effectively promoted Obama during his presidential campaign, is a credential move that might do well with the target demographic.

Buzzfeed also says a "Democratic source" tells them they wouldn't be surprised if LeBron showed up to the upcoming concert as well.

Back in Sept., Hov was caught chilling with Bill Clinton, Chance The Rapper and others backstage at Made in America, and just last week Pusha T threw a block party with the Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Kaine. It's a good time for rappers to get involved with politics, and seeing how Ohio is a swing state, it's also a crucial area for Hillary Rodham.
