Media reports from the Sheridan area indicate a fire that was started by lightning on Wednesday, has now grown tremendously.

The fire is north of Sheridan, and according to Fire Marshall Bill Biastoch, has now grown to over 91,000 acres, with 45,000 in Wyoming .

The fire control situation is described by the Marshall as “fluid” and several structures are reportedly threatened.

Several departments from the area, elsewhere in Wyoming, Colorado and Montana have joined in the fire control efforts.

Fire Marshall Biastoch says it may take another couple of days to get under control.

Reports on Facebook indicate one house may have already been destroyed, and authorities are seeking donations of food and other supplies for crews on the line.

We will update when we have more information.
