It was a surprise to some, but not to others when the Oklahoma City Thunder fired head coach Scott Brooks.

Although the Thunder didn't make it to the NBA playoffs this year, it wasn't for lack of trying. Starting point guard Russell Westbrook recorded 11 triple doubles this season. But with other starters (and all-stars) like Kevin Durant and Serge Ibaka out, maybe OKC is a little quick on the trigger to put the blame on anyway else but the rest of the team.

Brooks has a stellar record, both as a head coach and an assistant coach. In 2014 Brooks was named the Western Conference All-Star Coach for the 2014 NBA All-Star Game in New Orleans. He also ranks third on the Thunder franchise's all-time wins list (including when they were the Seattle Supersonics), behind only Lenny Wilkens and George Karl.

Considering the Denver Nuggets are currently without a head coach and Brooks history with the franchise, it would be no surprise if they reach out to him soon. Even if it's not the Nuggets, with his success and accolades, I wouldn't expect him to be without a head coaching position for long.
