Ask grandpa what it was like to live back in Wyoming, 1951. Assuming your grandpa is that old.

That was a great time to be alive. It was a golden area.

Those who vacationed in Wyoming back then did not have interstate highways to drive on. If you think the state is sparsely populated now, imagine back then when Wyoming was only 290,529 people.

This video is the window we need to have a look at a 1951 vacation to Wyoming.

BUT WAIT! - I have more for you then just the tourist video.

Someone has posted some old family film from 1951 on Youtube.

The film is yellow, and hard to make out in places. But it is well worth the look at the life of a small town family way back when in America's least populated state.

This next video is from Harry Goerke. He has 1 subscriber to his Youtube channel. This video is of Wyoming Rylands - Kids H & M Smalls 1951.

Get about far enough into it and you'll see yellow, snow covered mountains. This makes me think that it was shot on the western side of the state.

Kids in summer dress play in the snow on top of a mountain.

There is a woman standing by a sign, but the film is so bad I can't make out what the sign says.

Looks like these were happy memories from some Wyoming vacation.
