The Glenrock Food Pantry has officially been open for a month and the amount of community members they've been able to help is wonderful.

The Glenrock Food Pantry is located at 506 W. Birch #15 in downtown Glenrock.

It is open on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday every month.

Distribution times are1 p.m. to 3 p.m. for seniors and the disabled, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. for the general public.

Anyone in the community is welcome to use the food pantry, regardless of income. All distributions are on a donation basis, but no one is required to donate.

On their first day open, the Glenrock Food Pantry handed out 1779.95 pounds of food to 61 families. These families included 53 adults, 106 children, and 51 seniors.

On the second day open, the Glenrock Food Pantry handed out 2,468.91 pounds of food to 76 families. These families included 76 adults, 125 children, and 47 seniors.

The board is thrilled with the number of local volunteers that have expressed a need to help, but there are some other things that they currently need.

Monetary donations are always needed, and they are also accepting donations of nonperishable food items.

The sign up for Holiday Boxes (special boxes full of items that will help provide a lovely full holiday meal for families) begins on October 9th.

Anyone and everyone is invited to the Ribbon Cutting ceremony on October 7th at 6 pm.

The pantry will not be distributing food at this time. Instead, it is an opportunity for business and local community members to take a look at the facility and learn more about the needs of both the Food Pantry and the community.
