See? Science is more than just lab coats and Petri dishes...

Before we get started, I just want to mention it's not lost on us that "deanceable" is not a real word. However, since we are dealing with science and they elected to use it, we're running with it. Now onto the more important question, what do science and music have in common?

Apparently a lot.

There is a method to the madness of music. Yes, music is inherently an art form, but creating a hit that will stand the test of time can sometimes come down to research and science. In fact, the Columbia Business School conducted a study to determine what takes a song from a toe-tapping diddy to a chart-topping anthem.

Beyond that, researchers have determined which songs are the "most danceable." Their findings were published in the American Sociological Review. They looked at songs that made it to number one on the Billboard charts, dating all the way back to 1958.
