Throwback Thursday: DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince [VIDEO]

The younger generation may not immediately know who you talking about if you were to say the names of Jeff Townes and Will Smith outside of acting together in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, but DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince were known for making that good time, party, feel good music in the late 1980's... way before Will was known for blockbuster movie sales and producing famous children (see also: Jaden Smith & Willow Smith).

Summertime is of my all time favorite old school jams. Anytime you play this one at a BBQ or family reunion, it always gets the crowd moving. On a side note, Summertime earned the duo their 2nd Grammy and peaked at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 list.

The two are still friends to this day and are known to still perform together (between Will's hectic movie schedule). In the last few years, Jeff has had his hands in all different kinds of  business ventures from his hand in developing the video game DJ Hero to his continual contributions to Hip-Hop music.
